Thank you, Skye

Hello sweet bloggers,

There is some good news to share - I sold five cards last week to a dear friend and the proceeds would be going toward the education of the kids I support in Indonesia.
Here is a Pinterest inspired card made on pearlised paper.
The die cut has another pearlised layer underneath which was sent to me by Skye from Australia. Thank you, Skye for sending me such lovely papers and embellies. The sentiment is from an embossing folder from Tim Holtz I think and the lace on the top and bottom of the pearlised paper is from my stash as are the pearls on the heart.

I will submit this card in the following challenges:

Thank you

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you today made with my new die cut. I have used pearly vanilla paper which I picked up from Paddy's market in Sydney some 12 years or over.

The little pearly flowers came out a pretty heart shaped die cut. I could not but add them to this simple card.

I have followed the sketch at http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/ for this card.

Beside the above challenge I will also enter my card in the following challenge:

Wild blooms

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is my card to show you today made out of Sizzix thinlets and the inspiration is from Pinterest.
I have coloured the flowers with watercolours.
The ribbon looks too bulky, I know yet I just let it be there. When I need broad ribbon, I use narrow and vice versa. Lol.
Anyway, over all I quite like how my card turned out.

Thank you card for a man

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is my offering for today - a thank you card for a man. Apologies that I cannot recall the die that I have used here and neither the name of the embossing folder. The steel grey paper is quite shiny in real life and is from an envelope while the blue paper is from a tea carton from Marks and Spencer. The thank you die cut is from Kaiser Kraft. Thank heavens I remember that. Lol.

Happy Birthday card

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my quick card to show you made with fancy gift wrap and the sentiment is a rubber stamp from Hero Arts.  I have used a pink versamark ink. The washi tape and rhine stones are from my stash. That is pretty much it, really.

I will submit this card in the following challenges:

Food colouring for smoosh technique

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is another card made with the same fern die from Sizzix. Green and yellow food colours were used to produce the colours for these two ferns. I made them in different lots to make the leaves have another shade. The base was also with the same food colours but the yellow food colour would not mix with water and I like the bokeh like effect it produced. The sentiment is from Kaiser Kraft and the embossing folder I am not sure.

Celebrate

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is a card to show you today where I have created the background with a lavender Brilliance pearlescent ink pad and it looks much better in real life. The fern has been die cut from a yoghurt container. The sentiment is a diecut and the rhinestones are from my stash. I wish my cardstock would not get warped inspite of being so thick. I try and use glues that are quick drying and yet this happens. I do like this card but am not sure of the sentiment.

Celebrate

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is another card made with the famous smoosh technique with distress inks after which the paper was die cut with a Sizzix die. I found the right side quite empty so die cut sentiments from Echo Park and stuck them on.

Water colour background plus butterflies

Dear bloggers,

Here is a card to show you that has been made with the smoosh technique. The butterflies were die cut from a water colour paper on which I did smoosh with a transparent plastic bag. A sentiment could have been added but a friend said that there is enough happening on the paper already.

Addicted to CAS - rainbow

Hello bloggers,

This is my second card for the day which I will enter in Addicted to CAS where the theme is rainbow. I took a piece of white card stock and coloured it in the form of a rainbow with Derwent water colour pencils over which I went over with a water colour brush. The happy birthday sentiment has been die cut from the rainbow paper. The tape at the bottom is from 3 M.

Happy crafting,

Water colour leaf

Hello sweet bloggers,

Pinterest is taking a lot of my time these days and this particular card got it's inspiration from there. The leaf has been die cut from water coloured paper which was the handiwork of Aleeza, my younger one. I have used almost the entire little sheet of foam dots to raise up the white paper and the leaf. Embroidery yarn has been used to fill up the empty space at the bottom.  I quite like how this card turned out.

Thanks

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card where one of the feathers and the sentiment has been die cut from a laminated lid of a yoghurt container. The royal blue and purple feathers have been die cut from water colour paper after my younger one painted them with Sakura acrylic paints. The background has been created with Versamark Brilliant pearlescent ink in lavender as well as a tiny bit of distressed ink (lucky clover). Rounded off the edges and my messy preparation was ready. Lol.

Hello

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card made on printed cards tock.  The rose has been made with my Altenew layered rose die. The doily is from my stash and so are the pearls. I have used foam dots to adhere the rose and the leaves.
The hello sentiment has been die cut using packaging material. That is pretty much to this card and I quite like how it turned out. I did add more pearls after photographing it though.

Hello

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card I made while we were in the US last year. The flower and leaf stamp is from Paper Source and the sentiment has been die cut from a thick carton and I went over it with distress inks and many layers of Wink of Stella. So much so that I finished my Wink of Stella on this. The rhine stones are from my stash. The images have been stamped with distress inks and coloured with water colour pencils.

Monkey and Hamster

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is a card that Aleeza designed and I put it together. I cannot recall the name of the stamp which we have used for the sentiment. The coppery washi tape had to be used to cover up some stains. The monkey is 3D felt sticker from the craft store in town. The brown strip on the left is washi tape from my stash as well.

Below is Aleeza with Ginger, her class hamster who was visiting this weekend. Aleeza was so happy to have him, she being a total animal lover. In the picture, she has put Ginger in a shoe box.

Yes, the third graduation card

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card I made for my older daughter's bestie from our family. The image is a Prima rubber stamp which has been stamped with black Stazon. I have put a graduation hat sticker on the lady. The two small flowers have been punched from handmade paper from India while the big one has been sponged with distressed ink. The centre of the big flower is a seed which I often see lying on the green path outside where we live. I have used foam dots under the black paper and I can safely say this is almost the bestest knot I have made to date. Lol.

And another grad card

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is yet another grad card for Zeenya's bestie's parents to give to her. The stamp is a clear one from KaiserCraft while the hat and sentiment are from a Studio G cling stamp (I think).

The red  printed paper is a clothing tag from India and the Washi tape is from my stash. The hat has been coloured with water colour pencils and an airbrush and the rhinestone on the hat is from KaiserCraft. I have used a red metallic Uniball gel pen to highlight the feathers of the bird.

Another grad card

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is another grad card to show you which I have made for Zeenya's boyfriend. The monkey is a Kaiser Kraft clear stamp and the hat (a Studio G cling stamp, I think) has been stamped, coloured with water pencils and fussy cut. It was finally mounted on the monkey's head and I am afraid it may be a tad big for his head. The black and white strip is a jumbo sized washi tape while the sentiment is part of the set that came with the hat. I went over GRAD many times over with my black Sharpie as there were some bits that were not too well done while stamping.

Grad card

Hello bloggers,

Here is a card I made for my older one's graduation. The tassle was made with red embroidery yarn and I am honest when I say that it took me almost an hour to make. The hat has been stamped and fussy cut and the brad was coloured with a Sharpie since it was baby pink in it's original avataar.

The hat was coloured with water colour pencils and a water brush. The clear stamp is from Kaiser Kraft and the paper is from my stash while the sentiment was part of the set with the hat. I rolled up a small piece of paper and tied a wee bit of embroidery yarn to make the diploma and used glossy accents on the heart and the flowers.

All made in an hour

Hello bloggers,

These cards were made in an hour for my older one, Zeenya as she wanted to give them to her teachers before she leaves school as she is Grade 12. I have used a Penny Black wooden stamp.

I know these cards are very simple yet that is the best I could do with the time I had in hand.
I dressed them up with Sakura gel pens. The bird has been coloured with Sakuras over the stamps. Washi tape - some plain and some with shine to finish them up.

I LOVE butterflies

Hello dear bloggers,

I bought this butterfly die cut from the craft store I go to and just loved the ease of making simple and quick cards with it. I brushed Wink of Stella on the butterflies to give them an added interest. The person I made them for likes flat cards so I left them that way. I made as many as 7-8 cards and it was fun because it did not take much time.

The above is a close up to show you how pretty the cards looked with Wink of Stella.

I will submit these cards for the following challenges:

Big fat cake

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you made with a clear stamp (the name eludes me) and coloured with water colour pencils. The pink paper below has been coloured in with a pencil. The sentiment was a bit wonky as the top part of the folder would not align with the bottom. I could have gone slower with the rhine stones but I have so many in this colour that I went all out.

Hello after so long

Hello dear bloggers,

Thank you for not giving up on me. Just been so busy and had issues with my phone and computer.
Here is a card that was lying around unfinished since quite a while. The Thank You sentiment is from my stash and the printed paper is from the US and it was given to me by a very sweet lady who lived in our complex.

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is a card that I made in the US over summer last year. I had this washi tape which matched perfectly and so did the papers. I have used Wink of Stella over the smaller circles which don't show in the picture.

A no sentiment card card

Hello bloggers,

Here is a card that I made while the kids were on summer vacation. I have used white packaging material to diecut the roses and the cotton lace is from stash. The dabbing has been done with plastic wrap.
I may have posted this card last year but am doing so again to keep my blog active.

Thank you all for your visits.

Much appreciated,

Also made another card today and am valuing how lucky are those who can do things with their hands.

Hello and all!

Dear bloggers,

I sure have been away since October.
I had some health issues which kept me away.

This is a post to say that I am on my road to recovery and that is a big thing for me.

I will try and post slowly and surely and will certainly try and visit your blogs.

Wish you happy and crafty time,

Hello from the other side

Dear bloggers,

Hope you are well. Here is a quick card which Aleeza and I made in Boston. Aleeza and I have invented our very own plastic dabbing technique. We had oodles of fun making it.

United World Sanctuary is doing well and our last meeting (on silent meditation) was on Wednesday, September 2017.

Getting back to routine

Hello dear bloggers,

The kids are back to school and normalcy is returning slowly but surely. Yet, I miss them when they are gone. My initiative, United World Sanctuary is doing well and our next talk is by an existential coach on, 'Accepting life as it is'.

I made this card while were in the US. It is a stamp I bought at Paper Chase and I do love it lots. The sentiment has been die cut from thick card which was packaging material of a computer.

It's been a long, long time

Hello sweet bloggers,

Indeed a long time since I posted last. It was summer holidays and I thought of giving my children all the time I could. I know my older one, Zeenya is independent and a twelfth grader if you please. Aleeza is a fourth grader and time flies. We went to India for a few days and then to New York and Boston. It sure was hectic and NY seemed to be more bustling since the last time I visited it in 2007. Boston was far saner and more charming if I may say so. We did the Statue of Liberty and saw a Broadway musical called Aladin which was breathtakingly beautiful. Apart from that we saw Central Park and also the Common in Boston was very pretty.

I made as many as 22 cards in two weeks that we were in the US. Aleeza was a constant source of inspiration to me. I managed to visit Paper Source both in NY and Boston and picked up some pretty stamps and a circles punch from there.

Down below is one of the cards we made together. I carried my distress inks and coloured the background with them. Thank you is a die cut from a perfume packaging which is shiny, shiny magenta.

Will catch you later...

Happy crafting always,

Monica

For an 80th Birthday

Hello sweet bloggers,

Thank you for your kind words on my previous post. It is summer holidays now so life is calmer in some ways. This card was made for one of my neigbour's who is celebrating her mum's 80th. She paid me $10 Singapore dollars for it which will go toward a home that supports abused women in Malaysia.
It is a very simple card made primarily with designer paper from my stash and pop up glue. The numbers are from my stash as well and the nesties were die cut from a silver envelope.

These flowers were arranged and taken to a very lovely lady's home for dinner. I added a pink ribbon to make the white vase look dressy.

Happy blogging and happy crafting,

Monica

Hello from the other side

Hello dear bloggers,

Blogging has been on my mind and most certainly so. It is just that my initiative called United World Sanctuary had two events - one on essential oils and another on Laughter Yoga. Both went really well and how I wish I could laugh like we did in the Laughter Yoga session every day. I have also been selling cards at the events and have been donating them to a shelter in Malaysia called Sinar Sofia.

Now to the cards below - the first card has been made with my new die from Kaiser Craft. I used red paper for the hibiscus flowers and cut out the leaves carefully. Then I die cut the leaves again in cream coloured paper and stuck them under the hibiscus flowers. I also added another die cut to give more body to the leaves. The flowers and leaves were coloured with Prismas. This diecut sure made me think aplenty as the flowers and leaves were part of the same. The designer paper is from my stash and the sentiment has been die cut from a packaging material (incense sticks).

This sweet teddy card was designed and stamped by Aleeza (nine years old) while the labour was done by me. I think it is a Penny Black stamp she has used and the washi tape was bought at the craft store in town.

Aleeza gave this card to her Physical Education teacher who is her fave. I wish I could have taken a better photograph. We had to stick Washi tape inside as we had a goof up while using the paper scourer.

I will enter my card in the following challenges:
