Baby boy card

Dear bloggers,

Here is a card for the challenge over at https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/. A clear stamp has been used to stamp the giraffe which has been coloured in with Prismas. I have used designer paper on the left and two layers of washi tape next to it. The sentiment has been handwritten.

I will take part in the following challenges besides Freshly made sketches:

Tiny new bundle

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card to show you today. The clear stamp is from Kaiser and the sentiment is handwritten with a Copics marker. Aleeza coloured the roly-poly elephant with a Prisma pencil and we went over it with Pentel water colours. I think she did a pretty good job.
I got the inspiration from a Studio G stamp to handwrite the sentiment since I made a boo boo while stamping it. I have used carton packaging instead of foam dots.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Happy card making to you,

Monica

Here is a card I have made for CAS on Sunday. The theme is baby. I think the blue pot seems to have taken over the entire photograph. I have used two kinds of ribbons and that is pretty much it. I hope you like it.

A really bright baby card

Hello lovely bloggers,

Here is my card for the challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches. Only after making the card did I read the fine print which said you HAVE to use a stamp. Never mind, atleast I made a card in the bargain. I have used my latest die which is a Japanese make and it works like butter, so easy and smooth to die cut with. The blue scalloped nestie and round one are my new purchases as well. Thought I should inaugurate them instead of waiting for weeks, months and years, lol. I have painted the nesties with acrylic paint in a dab, dab fashion. The printed paper was sent by Terry and so were the gems. Now let me share a secret here - the gems were used to hide some flaws on the round nestie. And guess what I forgot to colour the eye of the bird.

I will enter this in the following:

See you later.

Love,
Monica

Retro Sketch 59 this week

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is a quick card I have made for Retro Sketch 59 this week. It was simple and fun to make since I was strapped for time. Today I took 30 cards to Aleeza's school to sell and displayed them with my handmade poster in the reception. I hope I manage to sell some :-)
Now over to my simple and sweet card made with a clear stamp set from We r Memory Keepers. I have used Brilliance pearly blue and it looks quite nice in real life. Ofcourse my camera decided to make it look as bland as possible. A few random pearls and it was ready and by the way I seem to be using pearls on almost each creation these days. So must make a note to self - to use varied kind of embellies.

Down below are my cards all packed and ready to sell at the school reception.

I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:
http://natalieandamy.blogspot.co.uk/ - monochromatic
http://bildmalarnachallenge.blogspot.com/ - less is more
http://www.tando-creative-challenges.blogspot.com/ - new beginnings

Will come and visit your blogs later.

Love,

Second entry for Less is More - frame it

Hello sweet bloggers,

Welcome to my newest followers, Satya and Linda - many thanks for joining my blog as a follower.

Here is another five minute card I made this morning to add to my stock (having sold off most of the ones I had).
It is an Inkadinkado stamp and I have used my blue Brilliance pearlescent ink while the sentiment is from Hampton Art. The nestie is from Spellbinders and the pearls are from my stash. I am quite happy with how it turned out and hope you like it too. It is going to be my second entry for LIM this week.

Wish you a pleasant week ahead.

Baby blue

Hello lovely bloggers,

Here is a quick card I made for http://mimchallegeblog.blogspot.com/ following the sketch.
No stamping, lots of 3D stuff and lots of sticking. The little rectangles have been punched out of wall paper. Yes, I used to buy rolls of wall paper at discounted prices  when we used to live in London for my cards.
I hope the pink bow is permitted for baby boy card. But then the world has changed a lot now. Men wear pinks and magentas like nobody's business :-) and I am happy about that.
The little horsey and baby sentiment were picked up at a very lovely craft store in Jakarta.
The ribbon was sent to me by dear Lynn and the buttons are from my stash. Quite happy with my button supply - seem to have almost every colour I am looking for.

Below is the sketch at http://mimchallegeblog.blogspot.com/ - apologies that I did not take a good picture.

This card took me all of 10 minutes to make - how cool is that!

I will also enter it in:

First time for CAS_ual Fridays!

Hello sweet bloggers,

I am back with another clean and simple card - this time it is for CAS-ual Fridays and their theme is to create a baby related card.

I have used pearly baby blue card stock but it looks nothing like pearly in the picture...and I have scored the left side of the card which doesn't show either.  I guess I should have waited till the morning to take a day time shot but then that would have meant more delay in posting the card for the challenge.

The stamp is from Kate and Co and the so is the sentiment. I have used my CB stamp die cut and Ek Success square punch for the nesties.
The border punch is from Ek Success as well and the label is from Mc Gill. The grey paper that you see is actually silver matt textured paper.
The crystal is from Prima and I went over the stamp with glitter.

Hope you like my clean and simple creation!

Thanks for all your love and encouragement...

Hugs,

Monica

Less is More - buttons and laces

Hello bloggers,

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my last card...

I have used pearlised baby blue cardstock for this card and have embossed it with my new embossing folder.
The cute baby pram  (kind courtesy Lynn) was heat embossed in sliver and coloured in with metallic gel crayons by Zeenya.
Thank you, Lynn for these delightful baby stamps that you sent me.
Doesn't the stamp look perfect with the folder?
The star shaped buttons were sent by dear Leigh (Charity Crafter) - thank you, wonderful ladies for adding so much colour into my card making. Aleeza loves these buttons and was a bid sad that they were going away because Leigh actually sent them for her!!! And I decided they were mine...
The sentiment is a ribbon which says,"It's a boy" which I had picked up a few years ago from a dollar store in Sydney. Sorry that it does not show so well.

I am going to submit this card for Less is More - the theme for which is buttons and ribbons

Hugs and hope to come and see you soon,

Monica

This card sold as well...

Hello bloggers,

Thanks for your lovely comments on my last post...

You know what my older one is going to be entering Middle School in August so their moving on ceremony is on the 9th. She will move to a bigger campus which is going to be different from the elementary one. I feel a bit sad at the thought saying goodbye... I have got so attached to her elementary school. Such a warm and caring environment and such lovely staff as well.

Enough waffle there... now to this card... simple card which i made in minutes.
The embossing has been done with my new Cuttlebug folder - just LOVE it.

I have used metallic white paper for the embossing which was sent to me by Leigh (http://www.charitycrafter.blogspot.com/) and stuck it with foam dots on metallic silver grey paper.

The blue sentiment is a ribbon which says  "it's a boy" and congratulations has been embossed with Cuttlebug as well. Looks far better in real life, to be honest.

The blue beads are from my stash.

Happy crafting and hugs,

Monica

Baby boy card

Hiya everybody,

Both Aleeza and Zeenya are asleep so I thought I would post another card...

This card is rather simple but you will not believe how long it took me to complete - FOREVER!!!

Materials used:

White cardstock

Ribbons and woolen yarn: all from my stash

Embossing done with Cuttlebug pram

Distressing with Jim Holtz Ranger distress ink - broken china

Rounded the corners of the rectangular patch with Ek Success corner rounder

Used double sided foam to give the pram more dimension

Sentiment - printed ribbon which I cut and pasted
Ribbon weaving - with my Fiskars border weaving punch (love affair gets stronger...lol!)

Am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

www.ynschallenges.blogspot.com/ - feeling blue (no I am not, lol)

www.alyssundaychallenge.blogspot.com/ - anything goes (my fave challenges when it is anything goes)

It is a simple card but they do seem to be in demand at my charity sales, you know.

Hugs,

Monica

Simple card for a baby boy

Morning bloggers,

It is 10.30 am here in Jakarta as I post this card. The weather is a bit cloudy and it may soon be pouring...

Hope you all are doing well - keeping warm and staying healthy. I do hope that March brings better weather - hopefully the daffodils will be out by then.

I made this card on creamy, vanilla cardstock.

The scallop edged oval has been die cut using my Sizzix dyes.

The embossed flowers are from Cuttlebug.

The embossed pram is from Sizzix - had it lying with me for 7 years and used it for the first time!

For the distressed effect I used Jim Holtz ranger inks - broken china.

I coloured in the pram with Do craft pastel chalks and rubbed glitter glue on top.

The shiny ground below the pram was made with left over glitter glue in the tube which was a waste really but I somehow managed to retrieve it. I cut the glitter glue tube in the centre and dragged out the remaining dried up glitter glue with a satay stick and stuck it on this card...

The sentiment is handwritten and the faux stitching is done with Sakura nail pens (which belong to Zeenya). They have a special 3 D effect on paper which looks really cool.

Ever since I discovered how nice these Sakura nail pens are, I have conveniently in my art and craft drawer! Keepers are owners!!!

I know this is a rather common place card but I did enjoy making it.

Have a nice day, afternoon, evening (or goodnight) depending on where you are!

Hugs,

Monica

Baby boy card

This card looks much better in real life. I punched a big circle using a giant craft punch from a beautiful blue and off white wall paper.
