For Unstampabelles

 Hello bloggers,

I seem to have some free time at my hands so am blogging away.

I made this card a while ago while I was at Langkawi (Malaysia) as a tribute to the superb eco-friendly resort we stayed in...

I gathered most of the material from twigs and barks lying around the beach.

Do not have the heart to sell it or give it away until I make some more of the same kind.

I am going to enter this in Unstampabelles monthly challenge - Christmas

Close-up of the embellishments

Supplies:

Base card stock - handmade paper from India
Corrugated paper - from toothpaste packaging in the resort
Twigs - lying around near the beach
Bark at the bottom - same as above
Jute  string - from my stash
Bells -made with Carla craft punch using an old Indian wedding card
Crystal - from Prima
Leaves - made with Carla craft punch on construction paper

Do tell me what you think of my creation... I have to say I was pleased with it.

Hugs,

Monica

Oshibana workshop

Hello sweet bloggers,

Hope that you are having a lovely Saturday. It is almost 9 pm as I write this post and I am ready to go to bed since I had a full day!
I was lucky enough to attend an Oshibana workshop last Tuesday. Oshibana means 'pressed flowers' in Japanese and this class was rather interesting to say the least.

Here is a card I made with the pressed flowers that were supplied to us in a kit.

Below is a book mark.

The workshop was great fun for me and I had a really stimulating morning. Such luxury to find something like this in Jakarta. Indonesia is so very rich in ethnic art and craft but there are not many structured workshops and classes that one could attend.

Will visit your blogs tomorrow...

Hugs,

Monica

Coffee beans on a card!

Hello bloggers,

Hope you are well and happily crafting away...

Here is a card I made this morning with almost everything natural... the leaves are from my flower press.

The cardstock is handmade paper and by now you may have guessed what the round stuff is - coffee beans! My younger daughter bit into one of them and it smelled awfully good. I thought she would freak out but she ACTUALLY liked the flavour... Lol!

The green background paper is what Zeenya and her classmates painted in Grade 1 when they were experimenting with the Eric Carle style of painting. The teacher gave it to me before trashing it as she knew how crazy I am about such things. Lol! No wonder my art and craft space resembles a junk yard... I collect 'most anything and believe you me - it always comes in handy. And then as they say - "Creative minds are rarely tidy".
That is my excuse for keeping a messy table at all times!!!

By the way, sorry for the poor picture quality.

Love,

Monica
