Partly recycled thanks card

Hello bloggers,

I have been busy with some health issues and ofcourse the Meditation workshops for parents in school which are held at my place.

The card down below was made with very pretty screen printed paper from India. It was actually an envelope which I had saved from over 10 years ago. The invitation card was from a ceremony which is called 'Mundan' which means the shaving off of a toddler's hair. There is a scientific connection here as it is believed that the first crop of hair should be removed to allow healthy hair to grow.

Partly recycled thank you

Dear sweet bloggers,

Here is the third card I have made with the last bits of a wrapping paper that a lovely friend used to pack a gift for me. Behind the image, is a green layer that has been painted with acrylics and behind that is designer paper in grey with Chevrons. The paper is a Singapore brand. The gold cord has been hand tied and the sentiment has been die cut from a pair of gold paper party goggles. I hope you like this card as I much as I did.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Partly recycled card

Hello dear bloggers,

This printed paper on this card was a fancy gift wrap in it's earlier life. A sweet friend brought me a gift wrapped in this paper and I told her that I would make a card with it. I sponged the edges with distress ink and stuck three layers of cotton lace at the bottom. The sentiment is a die cut and recycled packaging material that was painted a dark shade of green was used for it.

Over at Unstampabelles, the challenge is to share how you got inspired into card making with a twist of Thank You. Well, I was inspired by my Mum to start making cards when I was 10 years old. I made a card for my uncle when he had multiple fractures in his wrist. I remember that card so clearly - I drew an apple, coloured it in and fussy cut it and the caption I wrote was, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". I thought was super creative. Coming back to the inspiration I have received from my mum and I continue to receive it to this day. I remember she would draw daffodils and fill them up with crushed glass and glue. I thought that was really creative.

Partly recycled thank you card

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card that has been made from the packaging of "Merci" chocolates and a Kleenex tissue box. The slim layer on the very top is fancy washi tape. I quite like the stylishness of this card.

For CAS(E) this Sketch

Hello lovely  bloggers,

This is my take for the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch this week. My younger daughter, Aleeza (aged 12) did the layout for this card. The feathers have been made from Ferraro Rocher chocolate foil and I ran them through an embossing folder for added interest. The sentiment is handwritten and the gold border is from my stash. The background of the card has been done with yellow acrylic paint. I covered the front and back with yellow and it looks quite colourful.

I will also take part in the following challenges:

Partly recycled - thank you card

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card which has been made out of an Indian wedding invation card. The light blue metallic paper was also an invitation card for an Indian ceremony where a toddler's hair is shaved off. This has a scientific basis to it which says that removing the first crop of hair is healthy.  The paper has been with me for over 12 years and finally, I did something with it. The sentiment and the light blue dots have been die cut from the same paper. I have used my trusted Cuttlebug for the bigger circles. For the tiny light blue dots, I took a hole puncher and cut out these circles for added interest.

Thank you

Hello bloggers,

Here is a thank you card to show you today. I had this piece of cardstock that I had painted with acrylics in blue and green. I cut it diagonally for more interest and die cut the sentiment from thick packaging material which was painted with shades of green and gold.

Partly recycled / Froggie says thanks

Hello dear bloggers,

I had extra leaves die cut from the packaging of a bottle of perfume and this frog was lying handy on my art table. It does seem too green but I just put them together. The sentiment has also been die cut from some packaging. The butterfly (die cut from a pamphlet from the Japanese embassy)  is a leftover from a card I made some days ago.

I think I should rename my blog and call it something similar to, "The Charity Recycling Queen".
