Upcycled from a Merci chocolate box

Hello lovely bloggers,

Here is my latest card to show you which was made from the packaging of Merci chocolates. I stuck the merci sentiment on foam dots for dimension and added a sparkly gold washi tape to add glamour.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Partly recycled

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you today quite similar to the one I posted some days ago. I have upcycled foil from a yoghurt container for the silver nestie as well as the die cut sentiment. That is pretty much to it.

Thanks

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you for CAS(E) this Sketch. The red and black strip is part of some packaging material and I have had it for a while now. I tell you I am happy to see it on this card. The thanks sentiment was bought from the US last year. I cannot recall where it came from.

I will also submit my card for the following challenges:

thank you

Hello bloggers,

Here is small card I made for someone special. The card stock came from dear Shirley-Anne. Thank you, Shirley. I have used a Unity stamp and the butterflies have been stamped in Brilliant pearlescent light blue. Aleeza suggested I go over the butterflies with Wink of Stella to highlight the butterflies. The card looks quite pretty in real life with the sparkle. The sentiment is a die cut from Kaiser. I have used Marks and Spencer tea packaging for the same. The embroidery yarn is from my stash. I ran the blue paper through my cuttlebug and embossed it with polkas.

Thank you

Dear bloggers,

Here is a quick card I made a few months ago with my new Sizzix papers. All I did was add a die cut sentiment in the centre. The paper was coloured with purple acrylic paint by Aleeza, my younger one. I know this card is simple and does not boast of any skills yet I like the colours and the flowers here.

Thank you

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my card to show you today made with my new die cut. I have used pearly vanilla paper which I picked up from Paddy's market in Sydney some 12 years or over.

The little pearly flowers came out a pretty heart shaped die cut. I could not but add them to this simple card.

I have followed the sketch at http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/ for this card.

Beside the above challenge I will also enter my card in the following challenge:

Thank you card for a man

Hello sweet bloggers,

Here is my offering for today - a thank you card for a man. Apologies that I cannot recall the die that I have used here and neither the name of the embossing folder. The steel grey paper is quite shiny in real life and is from an envelope while the blue paper is from a tea carton from Marks and Spencer. The thank you die cut is from Kaiser Kraft. Thank heavens I remember that. Lol.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Hello after so long

Hello dear bloggers,

Thank you for not giving up on me. Just been so busy and had issues with my phone and computer.
Here is a card that was lying around unfinished since quite a while. The Thank You sentiment is from my stash and the printed paper is from the US and it was given to me by a very sweet lady who lived in our complex.

Happy crafting,

Hello from the other side

Hello dear bloggers,

Blogging has been on my mind and most certainly so. It is just that my initiative called United World Sanctuary had two events - one on essential oils and another on Laughter Yoga. Both went really well and how I wish I could laugh like we did in the Laughter Yoga session every day. I have also been selling cards at the events and have been donating them to a shelter in Malaysia called Sinar Sofia.

Now to the cards below - the first card has been made with my new die from Kaiser Craft. I used red paper for the hibiscus flowers and cut out the leaves carefully. Then I die cut the leaves again in cream coloured paper and stuck them under the hibiscus flowers. I also added another die cut to give more body to the leaves. The flowers and leaves were coloured with Prismas. This diecut sure made me think aplenty as the flowers and leaves were part of the same. The designer paper is from my stash and the sentiment has been die cut from a packaging material (incense sticks).

This sweet teddy card was designed and stamped by Aleeza (nine years old) while the labour was done by me. I think it is a Penny Black stamp she has used and the washi tape was bought at the craft store in town.

Aleeza gave this card to her Physical Education teacher who is her fave. I wish I could have taken a better photograph. We had to stick Washi tape inside as we had a goof up while using the paper scourer.

Where oh where have I been???

Dear sweet peeps,

This is my first post for February and I am in total disbelief about it. Life has been so busy that yet again blogging has taken a back seat.

Here is my card made with die cut flowers which I assembled together and put a seed in the centre. I do love these bright and natural seeds. They look even prettier in real life and their shine amazes me. A friend on Facebook told me that they are similar to lentils and can actually be eaten. The tag here has been recycled while the ribbon and sentiment are from my stash. Since it was Chinese New Year time here, I thought of giving it a cherry blossom look. A bit bright yet they look like Sakuras. This picture was taken before sunrise hence the quality such as this.

Yaay, I managed to blog again this morning.

Hello sweet bloggers,

Oh, the joy of blogging is far more than words can express. So here I am today with another card to show you. The polka dotted paper was sent to me by Terry while the image is a rub on which was sent by Lynn. Thank you, lovely ladies. The ribbon and sentiment are from my stash and that is it, really.

I will enter my card in CAS(E) this Sketch this week.

Catch you soon,

Monica

Hello!

Hello lovely bloggers,

I know I have been missing for a while now and that is because life has been hectic.

Here is a quick card to show you which I made a while ago. The embossed sentiment is my new purchase from the craft store. The buttons and lace are from my stash and that is it, really.

I am off to do some visiting now,

Lady bugs

Hello sweet bloggers,

That was a big break of 10 days there. Life is just keeping me so busy and vital issues like school are taking much of my time.

Over the weekend, we took Aleeza to a Hairy Maclary Show and was she happy to see it. She wished it would go on for 'four hours'. Even though it was a bit babyish, she loved it. It is such a blessing to have an almost 15 year old along with an almost seven year old. Oh how nice to have an innocent view of life. She finds happiness in the smallest of things and it makes me marvel at the psyche of a child.

Here is my card to show you today which was made while we were in our temporary accomodation. The stamp is a tiny one and I made a border out of it. I have coloured in the stamp with Aleeza's Faber Castell's and the fabric tape is from Indonesia. The sentiment is store made while the black and while check paper under the sentiment is part of the packaging from the fabric tape. The very tiny button is from my stash.

I would be happy with lots of good energy coming my way.

Happy day,

Monica

For Less is More - a touch of turquoise

Hello kind peeps,

When I went to the super market this evening, I decided to spoil myself with some craft goodies and here is the card I made in seconds from my new Penny Black stamp. I have been eying this stamp at the bookshop for a while now and today was the day when I gave in to my temptation. The first attempt at stamping straight on to the card stock was a messy affair. But I was determined and did manage to get it right. I have outlined the bird with my Prisma turquoise pencil and have stuck turquoise rhinestones as well to add more interest. In my earlier times, I would be uncomfortable with such a simple, no frill card but now I am rather confident. That means I have come a long way with CAS and the credit goes to LIM for that. Thank you, LIM!

Here is lil' Aleeza at her second art class with her left hand.

This is her finished art work - I think she could teach me how to shade and stuff. Lol.

Since she has been home for a month now, a friend came over to play. They are doodling on her cast which is coming off tomorrow. Yaay!!!

Oh happy childhood - no inhibitions, only fun, fun and more fun.

Wish you a happy Sunday and I will come and do some visiting when I have more 'me' time,

Monica

Queen of Recycling is here...

Hello lovely people,
Hope you are having a warm and sunny Tuesday... mine was rather busy with the kids being at home since everything is closed here for a week for the festival of Eid. Hubby went to golf so we went eating out and shopping. If he can play golf three days in a row, I can have a nice time too. Lol.

This card is for the challenge over at CAS on Sunday which is to tag it. This tag has been recycled and I thought it was just too pretty to be binned. I have covered up the text with the little thank you chip board sentiment that came from Sandra. The daisies have been punched and their centres have been made with a clay similar to Amos clay which belongs to Aleeza. I pinched some clay while playing with her to make the centres of these flowers. I do like my flower centres and the idea of recycling but am not too sure of the layout of this card. It looks a bit bland at the bottom, doesn't it? I have embossed straight lines on the card with my scorer and scoring board but it doesn't show in the picture. I think I may liven it up a bit more at the bottom - comments welcome :-)

I will also enter this card in:

Off to do some commenting now.

More gingham coming your way

Hello sweet peeps,

I had this red and white gingham lying on my table and my blog buddy Sandra sent  these cute sheep chipboard images, so I thought why not make a card combining the two. Incidentally sheep images sell very quickly for some reason. I have a confession to make though - these chipboard images were sent for little Aleeza but I just could not keep my hands off them. And Aleeza was kind enough to share so I went for it.  The sentiment is handwritten with an American Craft permanent marker. I could have come up with a witty sentiment like "Happy Baaday" but my hands had a mind of their own...

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

See you later.

Good news - seven cards sold at Aleeza's school

Hello sweet peeps,
Today there was a beautiful earth day celebration in Aleeza's school and they sang a lovely song called, "Mother Earth, Mother Earth, it's a great place to be..."
I am so happy that seven cards have sold in Aleeza's school so far and that takes my count to a total of 50 so far this year. I must thank you all for the encouragement and support you all give me. Blogging has done much for me to say the least.

And now to my card following a sketch for Crazy 4 Challenges. It took me forever to create this card even though it was such a nice and easy sketch.  The image is a stamp from Penny Black which has been coloured in with water colour pencils, cut out and popped on foam dots on the punched white paper which has also been stuck with foam dots to give it more dimension. The paper is from a roll of wall paper and the mesh is from my stash as are the buttons. It looks a bit lop sided in the picture but in real life it looks okay. The sentiment is handwritten (I am not impressed with it) and I have used liquid pearls for added interest.

Down below is Aleeza's contribution for Earth Day - she says it is a little girl hugging the earth.

Wish you a pleasant week ahead.

Love,

Monica

For Less is More - Lime and Black

Hello lovely bloggers,

Hope you are well and healthy which ever corner of the globe you are.
I had made a promise to myself that I would try and blog everyday but life just got in the way yesterday. Anyhow here I am today with a card that is bland and rather plain. Looks like mojo has gone for a ride again. Just didn't feel like making a card and had to force myself to make this one for Less is More which is all about lime and black this week.

I have embossed and sponged the lime green panel and have stuck black and white printed paper underneath it. The sentiment is from Spellbinders - it was lying handy on my table so went for it. Rounded two corners to add more interest however it may have worked otherwise.

I will also enter this card in the following challenges:

Wishing you a pleasant morning, afternoon or evening...

Thank you Sandra

Hello there,

Here is a card I made with the lovely papers and embellies I received from dear Sandra. Thank you ever so much, Sandra. Since everything was coordinated it took me precisely a few minutes to make this card. Sometimes it is nice to create a card with no stamping. All I did was add matching ribbon, crystals and an MS punch on the side with pop up fabric glue on it. I like this simple card but was left wondering if there was too much plain surface at the bottom?

Happy carding!

Lots of love,
Monica

For CAS(e) this sketch and CAS(ual) Friday

Hello kind peeps,

Here is my card for CAS(e) this sketch and over at CAS(ual) Friday the challenge is Chevron and Flowers this week so I decided to combine my card for both challenges. The card stock is light green and I have sponged it with TH broken china and I made my own tag, sponging it with the same ink. The flower is from Petaloo and the yarn and pearls are from my stash while the sentiment is from Spellbinders and I have had in for two years now and did not realize what a pretty font it has. So now you are going to see a lot of this in the future. Lol. The Washi tape is from the scrapbooking store close by and the flourishes are from Sizzix and they have been sponged with different inks.

Thank God it's Friday and I do hope you like my card.

Love,

Monica
