Partly recycled card

Hello bloggers,

Hope you are having a relaxed and happy weekend... I am getting to craft and blog so am a truly content being!!!

Here is a partly recycled I made with a paper mat with a cane print.

Supplies:
Base card stock - white
Brown faux cane mat effect paper - recycled table mat from a restaurant (I pinched it in the name of Aleeza!)
Designer paper - kind courtesy Terry
Leafy border - MS punch (love my new acquisition to bits)
Black and brown border at the bottom - new gift wrap (I hoard gift wrap and then I complain I don't have enough space in my card room)
Sentiment - Hero Arts on white paper and distressed with Tim Holtz wild honey and crushed olive
Ribbon - originally white but distressed with  Tim Holtz crushed olive
Beads - from Hobby Craft

Am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

http://sugarcreekhollow.blogspot.com/ - vintage, shabby chic or primitive, trash to vintage
http://suchins.blogspot.com/ - simply sentiment

Have to take Zeenya for a hair trim and I need one as well... but am feeling a bit rough and she is kind enough to understand.

Catch you soon!

Lots of hugs and blog love,

Monica

Hello bloggers,
Thanks so very much for all the encouraging comments on the black and orange card... I felt so motivated that I thought of taking part in a sketch challenge...

So here is my take on the sketch - more shabby and less chic!!!

Supplies:
Base card stock - white and distressed with American Crafts stamp pad in aqua
Doily - punched out a circle, used Paper Mania doily stamp in pearlescent blue (Brilliance Archival)
I distressed the stamped doily with lavender (American Crafts) which kind of ruined it!
Borders - MS punch
Butterfly - K and Co (pretty acetate butterfly)
Flowers - made by me
Leaves - leaf punch
Sentiment - Hero Arts
Ribbon and glitter - from stash

And down below is the sketch http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:
http://littlemissmuffetchallenges.blogspot.com/ - purples, blues and greens
http://blog.cuddlybuddly.com/ - vintage, distressing and flowers

Hugs and have a pleasant weekend,

Monica

Another thank you card!

Hello bloggers,

I just don't seem to stop making thank you cards - for some reason they are a hot favourite!!!
Sorry if I am boring you with the same old sentiment...while you guys inspire me with so much variety.

It was not very easy to make this card... I like to use black only with a few other colours such as red or white. So here I have been a bit adventurous, you know.

Supplies:

Base card stock - black (not high grammage, so used a heavy inner card)
Border punch - MS
Embossing - CB
DP - made by me using  Hero Arts design block ( stamped it on orange printer paper with Tim Holtz peeled paint and distressed it with the same ink to tone down the orange)
Image - glossy sticker stuck on handtorn orange paper (which was distressed as well) and then on to black card stock
Sentiment - handwritten (surprise, surprise) directly on to paper
Card inner - used a pale green (the exact colour cannot be seen in picture)

Am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ - use atleast one punch

Hugs,

Monica

Featured blogger

Hello bloggers,

Hope you are doing well...

I have been missing in action as we were away for a short trip to Vietnam - time permitting I will try and post some pictures.

Now to the featured blogger of the month - it is Charlene of http://www.paperandinkplayground.com/

She makes awesomely clean and stylish cards and often includes  yummilicious recipes of food in her posts just to name a few. Her cards are one of a kind and I simply love them.

Do visit her and take a tour of her blog  - you will be the richer for visiting her lovely blog and surely you will find something that interests you.

I will come and do my rounds soon - since I plan to sort out the laundry later rather than sooner (knowing me!!!) Lol.

Hugs and TGIF,

Monica

My very own designer paper!!!

Hello bloggers,

Saturday is here at last... there is celebration in the air here because Idul Fitri is almost here.
Happy Idul Fitri to all my friends who celebrate it. May it bring cheer, good health and peace to you and yours.

Here is a card I made last night and it took me forever to match the embellies. Peach is a colour that I don't work much with though I do think it is lovely.

Supplies:

Base cardstock - dual shaded beige
Designer paper - created with Hero Arts designer block, stamped with blush (American Crafts)
Peach paper - from a paper ribbon
Flower - handmade by me on the spot and distressed with clay (American Crafts)
Leaves - from MS border punch (scrap lying on my table)
Pot - die cut from Sizzix using hand made paper, distressed with Tim Holtz old paper
Border punch - MS
Corner punch - Carla craft
Crushed ribbon  - from my top!!!
Sentiment - handwritten with a slight change in writing

Aren't you impressed with the designer paper?

I am quite pleased with the way this card turned out eventually. Hope you like it as well.

I am going to submit this card for the following challenges:

http://www.sewmanychallenges.com/ - edge punch
http://jellyparkchallenges.blogspot.com/ - punches or die cuts
http://www.phindysplacechallenge.blogspot.com/ - make your own embellishments

Started my new batch of charity cards for Japan Red cross!

Hello bloggers,

Hope you all are well and happily crafting away.

I have some good news to share - I have sold 9 cards from my new batch of cards which I am making for Japan Red cross again.

Below are two cards I made with the same cupcake stamp.

Supplies:

Base card stock - pale green
Pale lemon card stock embossed with Cuttlebug and distressed with crushed olive and wild honey
Stamp - cake stamp with sentiment from Hampton stamps
Glitter - around border of card stock with cupcake stamp as well as some of the embossed cup cakes (could not picture that too well)
Sakura metallic pens - to colour the cake stamp and on the embossed ones (cannot be seen)
Cord - from my stash and dyed with the same distress inks

Supplies:

Card stock - dual tone mocha
Designer paper - from Terry's blog candy
Brown card stock - embossed with Cuttlebug and touched with Sakura gold pen
Stamp - same one as above and coloured with Sakura gold pen as well
Tea pots -punched from scraps on my table (stuck ribbon and paper under the teapots)
Rose - hand made by me
Leaves - from Carla craft punch and embossed with Cuttlebug
Ribbon and mosaic - from my stash

They are rather simple cards but I like the first one more than the second. What do you feel?

I am going to enter the first card in Michelle's Make it Monday Linky Party.

Hugs,

Monica
