Partly recycled - thank you card

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card which has been made out of an Indian wedding invation card. The light blue metallic paper was also an invitation card for an Indian ceremony where a toddler's hair is shaved off. This has a scientific basis to it which says that removing the first crop of hair is healthy.  The paper has been with me for over 12 years and finally, I did something with it. The sentiment and the light blue dots have been die cut from the same paper. I have used my trusted Cuttlebug for the bigger circles. For the tiny light blue dots, I took a hole puncher and cut out these circles for added interest.

Thank you

Hello bloggers,

Here is a thank you card to show you today. I had this piece of cardstock that I had painted with acrylics in blue and green. I cut it diagonally for more interest and die cut the sentiment from thick packaging material which was painted with shades of green and gold.

Self painted flowers

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is a card I have made after watching, 'Calligraphy by Mukta' on Youtube. She is an amazing watercolour and calligraphy artist.
I have used Pentel watercolour tubes here and the flowers and leaves have been painted with brushes directly on to watercolour paper. No pencil work here. The layer below the flowers was done with acrylics. It just so happened to come together. Ephiphany I call that.

Calligraphy

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is a card I have made with smoosh done with distress oxides. The fern leaf was done many months ago with a similar technique using watercolours.
I am trying to learn calligraphy and here is an attempt at it.

Hello - a collaboratory card

Dear sweet bloggers,

My younger daughter, Aleeza who is all of 12, made the background of this card with markers and I layered it on to a cardstock that was painted with acrylics. The teddy bear came all the way from the UK. A kind blogger by the name of Sandra Baldwin sent it to me. Aleeza hand wrote the sentiment as well and I stuck the layers together.

You're a STAR

Hello lovely peeps,

My daughter made this card entirely on her own. The stars have been die cut while the big silver heart was cut from a yoghurt lid.  The paper underneath was made by her using Smoosh. The sentiment was stamped using a clear acrylic stamp and the striped bands on either side of the sentiment was done by Aleeza with Sharpies. The bottom has washi tape. Don't ask how much Aleeza and I love Washi. Lol.

Happy Birthday

Dear bloggers,

Here is a card that I finished off today after it lay for some weeks on my art table. And don't ask what all lies there!!!

The designer paper was sent to me several years ago by a blogger named Terry who doesn't blog any more.  The fan has been die cut using a yoghurt lid. The Happy Birthday has been heat embossed with silver embossing powder on to hand torn strip of vellum. I stuck a narrow piece of white cardstock under the vellum to highlight the sentiment. In real life, the sentiment looks quite nice and shiny. The pearls as you may guess, were added to cover up the glue marks which actually were not really visible. However, I wanted to play it safe.
