Hello lovely people,
I am trying to better my art of colouring stamps - thanks to all the inspiration I am receiving from blogland... Here is a Hero Arts cling stamp that I stamped and coloured with water colour pencils. I cut it out and stuck it with foam dots on cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug.
I have used a MS border punch for the leaves and a pink shimmery tissue paper below that which has been hand torn and crushed. Stuck a strip of vellum over the black leafy border to tone down the effect of black and a couple of crystals from Prima on the sides to hide the glue marks.
Below is a the same card without the vellum strip - which one do you like more? The black is a bit over powering, don't you think?
Am planning to enter this in Casual Friday - celebrate the women in your life.
Wish you a happy Tuesday.
Love,
Monica

Hi Monica
- your card is beautiful - the colour scheme is very striking - the rose looks quite 3D with your colouring. I think the vellum strip looks better as it does soften the black. I think, and only my personal taste, that the vellum would have looked softer with torn edges. HAve a lovely day.
Hello Monica. Oh WOW my friend, these are both gorgeous. I love them.
Personally, I love the one with the black showing, very very striking and so effective. I dont think it is over the top at all. You know me and Black with another colour. GORGEOUS. That is my own preference.
Lots of love, Sandra xxx
This is gorgeous, love the image and fab colours.xxx
Hi Monica . . . thanks for dropping by today.
I think this card is great with or without the vellum.

Very pretty card, Monica! I love your embossed background and fab colouring on your flower! x
I think either way the card looks just as nice.
Beautiful card Monica, I like the rose and the embossing.

Both are so pretty! Flower is great!
I like the one w/ the vellum!
I like the vellum on it I think - kind of tones it down. BUT, it's beautiful with or without the vellum! LOVE that beautiful embossing flower and the flower is beautiful!! PRETTY card!

Beautiful card Monica, good luck with the challenge too!
I do like the softer look with the vellum, and the flower is simply gorgeous! It doesn't look like you need much coloring practice to me!
Monica - the card is really pretty both ways. I really love that crinkled tissue paper! Thank you so much for playing along with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
