Happy Birthday to Mahatma Gandhi

Hello sweet bloggers,

Today is Gandhi's birthday - yes, the famous Mahatma Gandhi who believed in non-violence. How I wish he could bring peace to this troubled world of today.

Meanwhile on a smaller note, here is my card which brought me lots of peace while I made it. The background is a stencil which has been sponged in with distress ink and a butterfly added to give company to the bamboos.

Here is Aleeza's version

Here is my little artist assembling a decopaged image with my help. The joy she derived from this activity was beyond words. Thank you, dear Sandra for sending these images to us.

Down below is the final result  which looks far more three dimensional in real life

Thank God tomorrow is Friday,

Monica

Such perfect cards (and photo) to celebrate Ghandi's birthday. He was an amazing gentleman, and someone whose voice lives on in his writings. Thank you for the reminder, dear friend! xo

what lovely cards and i think Aleeza certaily takes after her mum! I too wish that Ghandi could bring some peace/calmness to the troubled world we live in today.

BOTH versions just put a smile all over my face! Love that stencil and the butterfly looks gorgeous. The monkey and parrot with the stencil is just darling - and so is your lovely daughter! So glad she's enjoying this card making with you. Love the dimension on that card too!

Monica, all these cards are wonderful. Aleeza's cards are super cute and I can see how much she enjoyed this. The card you made is very peaceful- a wonder tribute to Gandhi - I do wish he was still around. He had so much impact - just like Martin Luther King. God inspired and sent these men, so I am hoping He is going to someone someone soon to help us. I echo your sentiments on Friday - it is here! Yay!!! Hugz!

Love that bamboo background...you both created such beautiful cards with it. I must say as I scrolled down the cheeky monkey on Aleeza's card made me smile. Great photo of Aleeza too.
