Embossed stencil

 Hello bloggers,

I embossed this piece of cardstock using a stencil many years ago. Since I was not impressed with the watercolour pencil work, it just lay around and waited patiently. One fine day, my daughter, Aleeza placed it on to a base card that was painted over with orange acrylics. She even arranged a die cut sentiment on it. When I saw it all coming together so nicely, I finally stuck it and this is the final result.

Happy BIrthday Card by Aleeza

Hello dear bloggers,

My younger one who is 12 often collaborates with me and we land up making fun cards. The top layer of the card here is TOTALLY her creation. She painted the flourishes with Camlin watercolour brush markers from India and wrote the sentiment with a black permanent marker. I layered another piece of cardstock underneath after painting the edges with a matching brush marker. Glitter pens were used to go over the squiggles and they look quite sparkly in real life.

Another self painted one

 Hello dear bloggers,

I have used Pentel watercolours to paint the flowers here. They have been painted directly on paper which is a big achievement for me. The layer under the watercoloured flowers was painted on the edges with Pentels as well. The background on the card base was done with acrylics.

The link of the video which I followed is https://youtu.be/13VnbA9zXMs. The videos are called "Calligraphy by Mukta". They are very inspirational, to say the least.

Self painted flowers

Dear bloggers,

I have drawn and water coloured this bouquet entirely on my own using Pentel watercolours. The layer beneath the flowers was painted on the edges. I find that very calming to do. Lol.
The bow is from my stash. I wasn't too pleased with the bottom of the bouquet so in came the bow.

Choose happy

Hello dear bloggers,

The leaf die here was cut using paper that I had smooshed with neon paints. Some of the veins of the leaves were left in for more effect.  I gave an outline to the top layer with pink neon paint and stuck it on a cardboard piece. I just love this sentiment.

It's your Day!

Hello dear bloggers,

I smooshed the back of a thick cardboard coaster with neon Mala paints, embossed it and stuck the ice cream image on.
The ice cream image was sent by a very dear blogger friend, Sandra Baldwin many years ago when we lived in Indonesia which makes it over 8-9 years ago.
The sentiment is a die cut one and a black piece of cardstock was stuck under the round coaster to bring out the brightness. You may need sunglasses to view this card.

Neon dragonflies

Dear bloggers,

The dragonflies here have been punched from cardstock that I painted with Mala paints from Ikea.   Orange and pink paint was randomly squeezed on to an acrylic block before smooshing it on to paper. A Sakura gold gel pen was used to add interest to their veins.
The eyes of the dragonflies were done with a black Copics marker while the sentiment was handwritten with the same marker.
The punched dragonflies were lying on my table for a quite a long time as a result of which some of them lost one of their antenna. Instead of throwing away the entire dragonfly I stuck it in a way that the missing antenna would not be visible.

Down below is a closeup of the gold penwork.
