Calligraphy

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is a card I have made with smoosh done with distress oxides. The fern leaf was done many months ago with a similar technique using watercolours.
I am trying to learn calligraphy and here is an attempt at it.

Hello - a collaboratory card

Dear sweet bloggers,

My younger daughter, Aleeza who is all of 12, made the background of this card with markers and I layered it on to a cardstock that was painted with acrylics. The teddy bear came all the way from the UK. A kind blogger by the name of Sandra Baldwin sent it to me. Aleeza hand wrote the sentiment as well and I stuck the layers together.

You're a STAR

Hello lovely peeps,

My daughter made this card entirely on her own. The stars have been die cut while the big silver heart was cut from a yoghurt lid.  The paper underneath was made by her using Smoosh. The sentiment was stamped using a clear acrylic stamp and the striped bands on either side of the sentiment was done by Aleeza with Sharpies. The bottom has washi tape. Don't ask how much Aleeza and I love Washi. Lol.

Happy Birthday

Dear bloggers,

Here is a card that I finished off today after it lay for some weeks on my art table. And don't ask what all lies there!!!

The designer paper was sent to me several years ago by a blogger named Terry who doesn't blog any more.  The fan has been die cut using a yoghurt lid. The Happy Birthday has been heat embossed with silver embossing powder on to hand torn strip of vellum. I stuck a narrow piece of white cardstock under the vellum to highlight the sentiment. In real life, the sentiment looks quite nice and shiny. The pearls as you may guess, were added to cover up the glue marks which actually were not really visible. However, I wanted to play it safe.

Another self painted one

Dear bloggers,

Here is another inspiration from 'Calligraphy by Mukta' on Youtube. Just love her watercolours and all she offers in her videos. I have used Pentel watercolours. The light green layer below the flowers has been watercoloured as well. The base card has been sponged with distress ink.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Best friends swim together

Hello sweet peeps,

Here is my second entry for Case this Sketch. I quite like my interpretation here - we are all connected and race, colour and size will not matter in the end. All that matters is that we swim together and hold each other's hand.

The fish have been die cut using papers of different textures - some have been painted and the others were cut using metallic papers from India  (mostly little bits lying around my table). I have combined two different dies to get the sentiment on my Cuttlebug. The background paper was done with Pentel watercolours and cling wrap. Even though I used 300 gsm watercolour paper it still got warped. That is what the famous cling film technique does for me. I always land up spraying too much water thinking that it would help the technique.

For CAS(E) this Sketch

Hello dear bloggers,

Here is my take on the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for this week.

The bubble wrap on the left has been stamped using a clear acrylic stamp pad and two different metallic stamp pads at the same time. I wish I could have taken a better picture to show you the metallic touch in the washi tapes. All the rest is Washi and my love of it except the brownish gold in the centre which is a kind of a ribbon. The sentiment is from my stash.

I will enter in the following challenges:
