You are the entire ocean...

Hello bloggers,

It has been hectic for me. So much so that blogging took a back seat. Anyway, here is a quick card to share with you. I made the background and it has little bits of shimmer here and there which the camera could not really capture. The sentiment is handwritten. The inspiration to make this card came from a dear friend who has been one of my guiding lights.

Happy crafting to all of you!

Card making booth at the SCWO Night Market - A night to remember

 Hello lovely bloggers,

It has been a long time. Here are pictures of the card making booth I hosted for the Singapore Council of Women's Organizations (SCWO) at their first ever night market on the 19th and 20th of October, 2022.

As I may have shared in my earlier posts, I have been fundraising, donating and doing mindfulness and card making workshops for the ladies at the shelter in the past. This shelter is run by the SCWO. It was pure delight to be able to participate in the market and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The card making table

One of the cards made by the volunteer who was assisting me. She made this as for her parents.

Lily, the volunteer posing with her creation.

Made by a four year old and his enthusiastic dad.

Made by a six year old girl.

Made by a volunteer at the booth for her husband. The image says
TRUE LOVE and came all the way from the UK from a blogger buddy
                         called Sandra.

Put together by an 11-12 year old girl.

Made by Lorraine, the Deputy Director of SCWO, for her hubby who loves cats.

Made by a seven year old girl. The dragon fly and teddy images are kind courtesy Sandra                             from the UK.

Lorraine and I trying to put the cat card together along with a 10 year old and her sister.

Made by a 10 year old along with help from me.

Made by the same 10 year old with guidance from me. The flower image was sent by another sweet blogger called Merry.

I am so happy that the card making booth was a big success and I cannot wait to do more such. Indeed a therapeutic activity.

Catch you sooner than last time,

Monica

Donation of cards plus talk on mental health to 50 students

Hello dear bloggers,

I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2022. Here are some pictures of the cards I have been making for the SCWO - Singapore Council of Women's Organizations where I have been donating proceeds from my meditation/wellness workshops. I was lucky enough to conduct a Christmas art activity for the residents of the shelter (run by SCWO) for Christmas on the 23rd of December, 2021. I cannot post pictures here due to reasons of privacy.

I was also given a chance to host a talk/workshop on Mental Well being for 50 teenage kids of an international school through the Rotary Club which was most fulfilling for me. The teenagers seemed quite happy with what I shared.

Down below are the cards for the SCWO as well as LCCS (Lutheran Community Care Services) for which I am an ambassador for their campaign against sexual violence. I made 16 cards for SCWO and 25 for LCCS and it was fun.

I will participate in the following challenges:

Mindfulness and Card Making Workshops for an NGO

Dear Bloggers,

I am so happy to share that I did two Mindful Card Making Workshops (30th September & 7th October) for the staff of Lutheran Community Care Services (LCCS) which is an NGO that provides support and restorative services to women who have been through sexual and dating violence. They are organizing a run in November to raise awareness regarding this cause and the cards were made as appreciation for the participants of the race.

Below are pictures of the cards as well as the workshops I conducted for the staff of this very special NGO.

Down below are pictures of the Zoom workshops

I will participate in the following challenges:

Happy card making all,

Heart flower

Dear bloggers,

Here is a card to show you today which has been made from embossed heart die cuts that came from Shirley-Anne who lives in Australia. Her blog is https://shirley-anne-stampingforjoy.blogspot.com/ and I am so honoured to share that from time to time, she has been sending craft goodies to me since the past 11 odd years that I have been blogging. Now, how kind is that?

Under the main flower, a sheet of kraft designer paper was stuck after being embossed and cut at a slant. For the centre of the flower smaller punched flowers were layered for more interest.

I will take part in the following challenges:

https://avenue613.blogspot.com/ - anything goes plus option school daze
https://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/ - anything goes with optional twist: use two or more designer papers

Happy cardmaking and happy everything to you,

Monica

Singapore National Day

Today is Singapore's 56th National Day. On the 6th, I was privileged to host a card making session for the residents of the shelter (that houses abused women) as part of the celebration. The activity was conducted on Zoom hence I had to leave the supplies at the centre a few days in advance. It was indeed a nice evening for all.

Down below are the cards I designed for the ladies and children to make. We kept red and white as the theme, keeping the colours of the flag in mind.

Thank you, Shirley-Anne for sending a box full of cards as a gift for the shelter. As you can see, the box came in rather handy as it was the perfect colour for the occasion. Your kindness is deeply appreciated as always.

Down below are the supplies that I delivered for the activity.
