Cards made for a good cause and often upcycled to respect and care for the environment

Hi bloggers,
Hope winter is less extreme... soon it will be March and daffodils will arive...
That reminds me of the poem , "Daffodils" by William Wordsworth...
Does anyone recall it?
I hope I have got the name of the poem and author right?
Here is my latest card for a man really... I cannot believe that I made it this easily!!!
Materials used:
Vanilla card stock
For the distressed effect on the sides I have used Jim Holtz ranger distress inks -
wild honey
peeled paint
and
rusty hinge
The squiggly design and happy birthday sentiment stamp are JUMBO stamps from Stampendous impressions.
I used a mixture of wild honey and rusty hinge to stamp the squiggly design.
The happy birthday sentiment was done with a mixture of rusty hinge and walnut stain.
The random pieces of mosaic are from my stash.
I do like how this card turned out... hope you like it, too.
On second thoughts which I seem to have often, I think I should have used mosaic all over the card. I was being stingy because I love this embellishment and want it to last a loooong time.
I am going to submit it for the following challenge:
www.craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.com/ - anything goes
Hugs,
Monica

Hello Monica. Another of your beautiful cards. Love how you have done the stamping, that scroll work really is very effective. Happy crafting. Hope you are keeping well sweetie. We have sunshine at the moment, and it is quite a nice afternoon.
Lots of love, Sandra xx
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high po'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of golden daffodils
Beside the lake
Beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
I think Wordsworth wrote it after seeing a field of daffodils in Cumbria, the Lake District.
Lovely Card Monica!
Thanks for dropping by and leaving comments, Monica. I appreciate it.
Yes I did remember the poem. I remember it all (I've only written the first verse!) I studied English Literature (a long time ago!) and it was amongst those we studied. It's amazing how things stick in your mind (if you enjoy them!) I remember lines from Shakespeare too!!! (Not that being able to quote from Macbeth or Twelfth Night has assisted me as I've got older!)
Here's the rest of it...
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced,
But they out-did the sparkling waves in glee,
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed,and gazed,but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
I have always thought it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read (which is why I suppose I've never forgotten it!)
Monica, it's beautiful just as is!! So very pretty. Like how you used all that distress ink. Great job.

Oh Monica, it's beautiful - so love the ink distressing; how very fabulous! The stamped image is lovely as is the sentiment - very good job doing it! I love the mosaics, very nice embellishment to add for texture. Ahhh...William Wordsworth; had to look it up and what a brilliant mind you have! ;-)

Monica, I love your blog! And I totally dig the stamps and distress ink technique, although I've never tried it yet (I can't find the proper materials where I live :(( ) But I am planning to make the impossible possible and get some of these amazing things and make some cards! :)
