Hello lovely peeps,
Here is my card to show you on this lovely Sunday morning. The mauve or lilac background was created by yours truly while playing with liquid chalks. And did it give me a time and a half because when it dried up, it was all powdery and flying everywhere. Since I did not have a medium to fix chalks, I took a paper tissue and rubbed it off and after about three attempts this is what I arrived at. I used purple, hot pink and blue liquid chalks (sprayed water over them) and somehow purple seemed to dominate, gently though. A wee bit of embossing and layered butterflies (the bigger one) and organza ribbon with white butterflies on it completed the card. I popped up the rectangular paper on foam dots and it looks quite elegant. No sentiment here as it would help sell it quicker. Yes, the doily was lying around on my table and I felt it would enhance the softness of the card. I promise the butterfly is blue but here it seems to look different. Why or why do cameras have a mind of their own?
I will enter this card in the following challenges:

Although your process was not smooth, the result is spectacular Monica. I find I can 'fix' chalks with hairspray - a light spray is great. Sometimes the colours strengthen a bit, so practice 'off project' if you are not sure.

Love the softness of the colours from your sprayed chalks background Monica. Lots of texture on your card from the dry embossing, layered butterfly and sheer ribbon. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
I've never used liquid chalk but think I may need to try them! What a lovely, soft background to go with the pretty blue butterflies! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!
Petty liquid chalk background for your butterflies and beautiful ribbon. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs, nancy
I've never even heard of liquid chalk - had to laugh at your description of it flying everywhere! The end result was worth it with the soft purple background and the embossing and butterflies. Thanks for joining us at CAS Mix Up.
Great bg - you achieved some great results on this!!! Pretty colors and pretty card. Hugz
Lovely card Monica you have chosen a lovely combination of dies and embossing folder. :)
