Snowflakes...

Hello lovely bloggers,

Hope you are having a nice and relaxed weekend... I did some craft retail therapy and bought myself some stamps. Hopefully, I will not store them until next year or later!!! Lol.

Here is another card that I made  for the bazaars but it sold much later... The total count is 167 cards so far and I am rather chuffed.
I was quite happy with the way it turned out - CAS!

Supplies:

Card stock - white with slight texture
Aperture - Ek Success square punch
Red square - Another Ek Success punch
Big snowflake - metallic white paper MS layered two snowflakes with foam dots
Crystal - Prima
Small snowflakes - white punched with the same metallic white paper as the big snowflake
Silver dots in the centre of each snowflake - pop up fabric silver glitter glue

Am going to enter this card in Less is More - snowflakes.

Off to put Aleeza to bed, she napped in the afternoon so she seems all bright eyed and fresh now.

Hugs,

Monica

Christmas card that sold

Hello sweet bloggers,

Hope you all are well and happily tucked away in the comfort of your crafting haven.

I am busy trying to bring some semblance of  decency to my craft room. Thanks so much Kevin, for giving me the idea about converting a wardrobe... That gave me some confidence and I went to the home store in our city and picked up a chest of drawers along with a mini cupboard. That helped to some extent but then I realized that I needed another chest of drawers which will take another 3 days to arrive at the shop from the warehouse. Till then, things are a serious mess but this time I am confident that I will come out more organized.
I also am trying to organize my clear stamps in files which will certainly help. Also have got a rack with shelves as I mentioned last time to keep my MS and EK Success punches. So things are certainly looking up! Lol.
Okay, that was a lot of waffle there...

Glad that you all had a happy thanksgiving...

Down below is a card that I made for one of the bazaars. I do like the way it turned out and sold pretty quickly at the second fair. Rather simple card but it looked quite effective. I spread silver glitter glue over the white bells to match them with the card.

Off to do some more organizing now...
Sorry if I have not been regular with my visits. Trying to be a good mum beside being just a good blogger! Lol.

Am going to enter this card for
Less Is More - bling
Make It Monday - anything goes

Monica

Christmas card for the bazaars

Hello bloggers,

Gosh! I have been busy for sure...

Here is a card I made a few days ago. The card stock is metallic and I have heat embossed the image with bright gold glitter. Heat embossing and me are not great buddies as of now but I will surely get back to it.

Hope you lovely people out there are doing well.

Thanks for all your love.

Hugs,

Monica

Fun crafting with friends

Hello bloggers,

We have very close friends over for the weekend from Malaysia - yaaaaay! And guess what? They wanted to make a card... See them below in action.

My friend with her oldest son (a very well brought up boy of ten) - both happily crafting away

My friend with her card

A fuzzy close up of the card - isn't it lovely? She just used stuff that was lying around on my table and came up with this...

Her son made a fantastic card as well but I forgot to take a photo. Trust me!!!

Have a nice weekend,

Monica

Gift boxes for Christmas

Hello lovely bloggers,

Wow, I get to post a card this morning - how fulfilling is that!!! Lol.
Today I have to take Zeenya shopping for Halloween - she and her friends have decided to just wear neon clothes and do neon make-up! And I have to get three birthday gifts for Aleeza's class mates who celebrated their birthday in school. Aleeza requires a Halloween costume as well but I will see if I can use Zeenya's hand-me-down.

 Supplies:

Base card stock - white covered with fancy mat gold gift wrap
Gifts - punched with Ek Success
Embossing on green gift box - CB
Gold gift box - mat gold hand made paper from India
Ribbon - from stash
Holly leaves - punched from similar gift wrap

Hope you like this card as much as I do. I did not know what to do with these punched squares and thought it was a good idea to use them for gift boxes.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Monica

Black and white Christmas card - really nice in real life!

Hello bloggers,

Welcome aboard, Tracey... thanks for becoming my latest follower. Yaaaay!!! I have crossed the one hundreth mark - actually I lost some followers when I changed the name of my blog in the very beginning.

Aleeza is on autumn break so she keeps me and the telly real busy. Sometimes she keeps the telly more busy than I. Lol.
I have made this black and white Christmas card with a huge stamp that has been sent to me by a dear, dear blog buddy, Sandra. My picture does not do justice to the card - not one bit.

Supplies:
Base card stock - white
Stamp - from dear Sandra
Sakura silver pen - to touch up the stamp
Glitter glue - for snowflakes and silver embossed paper
Silver embossed paper - at the bottom
Sequins - from stash

Am going to enter this for the following challenges:

Hugs and have a nice Wednesday,

Monica

Less is More

Hello bloggers,

Here is a card I made for Less is More - the theme being metal. Getting a decent picture was the hardest thing - to say the least!

Supplies:

Base card stock -  beautiful metallic dark blue (sorry, that it kind of looks deep grey and that makes my heart grey, lol!)
Presents - punched with Jeff  on metallic mauve
Lilac metallic tissue paper - Paper Chase
Metallic ribbon - Anchor
Rhinestones - from stash
Glitter - purple and silver from stash

I am also going to enter this card in Michelle's MIM - Make it Monday Linky party.

I think this is a rather uncreative card but the card stock looks really nice in real life and that adds some charm to it's otherwise staid look.

Hugs,

Monica

Christmas card

Hi bloggers,

Zeenya started Middle School today... sixth grader!!! I guess I will come to terms with the fact that she is not my little girl anymore but am happy that I have a girl friend in her. Thank God for daughters!

This is a Christmas card I made a while ago with the lovely stamps that Sandra sent me - thanks, Sandra!
There is a touch of glitter here and there which does not show in the picture and neither does the metallic silver grey card stock!
I have coloured the image with my Darwent water colour pencils.
The silver border that you see on the top and bottom was sent to me by Shirley-Anne.
Thank you, dear ladies for your generosity!
The stars, gifts at the bottom and the bling is from my stash.

Isn't the stamp cute? And look how big it is - tells such a nice story as well.

Hugs and happy crafting,

Monica

Christmas card

Hello bloggers,

Sunday is over and here is Monday... kids off to school and I am on the computer...
it is 11 am as I write this post to you all lovely bloggers out there. I hope you had a nice weekend. We went to an amazing Italian restaurant called Tuscano yesterday for lunch and I do think it was by far the best Italian cuisine I have ever had. I think it beat the food in Rome!!!

Now to this card - Sandra had sent me these very lovely stamps some time ago for Zeenya (who is going through an off-craft phase - sad, sad, sad). So I decided to make use of these awesome stamps.
I stamped the image on creamy beige multi shaded cardstock.
I coloured in a few elements of the image with Sakura gold along with Uniball coppery silver pen instead of using traditional colours.
It looks quite nice in real life unlike the picture which is rather bland.

The picture does looks better on zooming in though... I have used gold cord on the side to finish it off and also faux tiny gems here and there to make it look more lively.

Have a nice Monday!
Lots of love,

Monica

For Zeenya's former teacher

 Hello again,

This was a quick make for Zeenya's former teacher which I heat embossed (and not Zeenya!) - the picture quality is not good as it was taken from my phone. But the card looked quite nice on a shimmery baby blue background. The stamps are from Inkadinkado. The broad ribbon is what I bought from a small ribbon and lace store close by.

This was another last minute card to sell and it did! It is nice to make non-traditional cards.
The block stamp is from Hero Arts while I have used a punch at the bottom. The sequins are from my stash - love using them as they add so much sparkle. I have to add that they are a bit fussy to stick though.

I am going to submit this for http://www.fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/ - quick and easy

I promise I will not bore you with any more Christmas cards but incase I do... please bear with me.

Hugs,

Monica

My last minute orders!

Hello bloggers,

I know you all are fed up of seeing Christmas cards... this was one of my last minute Christmas cards which I think is a rather common place one. But the lady who ordered these cards did like it.

The candles are from Sizzix mini dies which I think looks rather cartoonish!!! Sorry for using the saaaaame sentiment yet again... I do like the script so bear with me. The dull gold paper looks much nicer in real life - it has this netty feel to it which makes it rather elegant. Everything else is from my stash.

I have been really slow in my postings this month... hopefully next month will be better.

Hugs,

Monica

A beary happy Christmas!

Hello bloggers,

To overcome my withdrawl symptoms I thought I must post another card. This card was to be sold but I gifted it to Aleeza's teacher's daughter alongwith her Christmas gift. Her daughter is four years old so she should have liked the card.

Zeenya heat embossed this image from ummmm... sorry, I cannot remember - Inkadinkadoh or ? I stuck it on this textured gift wrap and the card stock is actually shimmery matt gold but it sadly doesn't show in the picture.

I seem to have some more Merry Christmas sentiments but just love this one and keep using it over and over again... sorry if you have seen it so many times earlier.

I have almost finished my order of 15 cards so then I should have more time to blog (or so I think!)

This card is going to go to Michelle's Monday Linky party.

Also I am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

http://www.freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/ - sparkle and shine

http://www.craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/ - a beary project

For challenges and then for charity

Hi bloggers,

I am a bit behind with visiting as well as posting... Life has got a bit hectic ever since Aleeza's nanny left some weeks ago but I guess there are always pros and cons to every situation. And in this case, it is just as well that she has gone because Aleeza is going to turn 3 in February and she needs to learn to be independant.

For me it is good to bond with her without the nanny's slightly over bearing personality. The flip side is that it has made me flipping busy. I don't seem to get enough time to make cards, blog or just kick off my shoes and have some fun and that makes me a bit sad.

Never mind, I must try and be a good mother - they grow up so fast as everyone says... I should be grateful for such luxuries that Indonesia provides.

Okay, enough waffling there - it is 11.33 pm as I write this post. I have used this stamp from Inkadinkado while the metallic tissue paper is from Paperchase. The gems are from Paper Mania (I think) while the ribbon is from my stash.

Am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

Christmas card

Hello bloggers,

It was real fun to watch my little one on stage this afternoon dressed up as a flower (not a bee as I mentioned earlier)! She was supposed to do a bit of swaying but she just stood there like a rock - never mind atleast she went on stage.

I am trying to make unisex cards as I always land up making very feminine cards. So this was my take on making a card for a man...

I got inspiration to buy this ribbon from one of Lynn's Christmas cards. Do visit her blog and look at the stylish cards she creates.

This is a simple card but as I said I always need numbers to sell...

The top green bit is an additional flap on top and then are another two layers which are not visible in the picture.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

www.freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/ - winter, Christmas theme

Christmas card for next batch of charity cards...

Hello bloggers,

Hope you are fine and enjoying the onset of the winter season... In Indonesia, we have plenty of rain, rain and more rain coming everyday.

Today my little one, Aleeza is going to be performing in her school concert - Lion King and all her classmates in Nursery 1 are going to be bees!!! We are excitedly waiting to watch them on stage...

Here is a card I made for my next batch of charity cards for sale...

It is a shimmery blue-grey cardstock with punched reindeer, holly leaves and ribbon from my stash. Rather simple but I do like it.

Am going to submit it for the following challenges:

Happy crafting with love,

Monica

Challenge then charity

Hi bloggers,

I made this card and a dozen more for a lady who stays in our complex who was kind enough to want to buy them...

It is a bit like the last card I posted... but I really like the colours here.

As you can see my Cuttlebug is really coming in handy. The wine coloured circles have been die cut from handmade card stock. Pity  that this card looks much better in real life.

Am going to enter this for the following challenges:

For challenges then for charity

Hello bloggers,

Thank you so much for your warm birthday wishes on Zeenya's birthday... what a lovely world blogland is!

I just happened to stumble upon www.cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com/ and got inspired to take part in their latest challenge with this card.

Somehow this card looks much nicer in real life because I have used shimmery paper and the camera doesn't do enough justice to it. The circular shapes have been cut from my Cuttlebug die cuts on handmade paper and the snowflakes, holly leaves and reindeer are all from Carla craft punches. The sentiment is hand written because there wasn't enough space on the card to stamp it.

I am also going to enter this in the following challenges:

www.dcdchristmasclub.blogspot.com/ - anything goes

www.papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/ - bling and any colours you like

www.meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/ - glitter, rhinestone, sparkle

Chirstmas card for challenges and then to a good cause

Hello bloggers,

Hope all is well in your creative world...

Here is a simple card I made at the weekend with my new Inkadinkado clear stamp. It is rather childish compared to the gems that you lovely ladies produce out there. But I have an excuse - since I make cards to donate I need volumes, hence cannot spend too much time on one card. Sounds convincing, doesn't it? So that is my answer for not working so hard on my cards. Lol!

The gemstones that I have used are actually tiny "bindis" - the stuff that Indian ladies wear on their forehead.

I have got permission from my younger one's school to host a charity card sale on this coming Thursday and Friday - so am working away. Happily for sure!!!

Am entering this card in the following challenges as well:

www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ - anything goes

www.ellephantasticchallenges.blogspot.com/ - blue

www.fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/ - clean and simple

www.michelle-pinkpaperparadise.blogspot.com/ - not a challenge but a no - pressure inspirational weekly linky party.

Charity cards for Caring Hearts Drive at Ling's happy place

Hi bloggers,

Hope you had a good Halloween weekend... My kids had lots of fun - maybe I will post their pics when I get a chance.

Here are the cards that I am going to send to Vera at www.lingshappyplace.blogspot.com for Caring Hearts Card Drive. The deadline is November, 15th so hopefully they will reach before that... Thank you, Vera, for starting this wonderful drive!

These cards did not take very long to make which is just as well because I have a lot more to make.

The picture could have been better - anyway, I hope you like my cards. I love that poinsettia punch so much.

Love,

Monica
